Bakelite Insulation Electrical Board

Bakelite is a generic named material based on the thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride. It was used for its nonconductive and heat-resistant properties in radio and telephone casings and electrical insulators.

Bakelite boards are mainly classified into different types based on their reinforcing materials. Common types include paper phenolic board and cotton fabric phenolic board, which use paper and cotton fabric as the base material, respectively, giving the boards different mechanical and electrical properties.

3021 Paper Phenolic Sheet:

Base material: Bleached wood pulp paper or cotton linter paper.

Characteristics: Commonly used, general-purpose, with good electrical insulation, mechanical properties, and processability, suitable for general electrical and mechanical applications. 

3025 Phenolic Fabric Sheet:

Base Material: Fine-woven cotton fabric or canvas.

Features: Superior mechanical strength (especially impact strength) and abrasion resistance compared to cardboard, suitable for structural components requiring higher mechanical properties. 

Materials and Structure of Bakelite Insulation Board:

Process: Manufactured through impregnation, drying, and high-temperature, high-pressure lamination, resulting in a dense and uniform structure.

Typical Specifications of Electrical Bakelite Board:

Thickness: 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, 5.0mm, 10mm, 20mm, etc. (custom sizes available upon request).

Dimensions: Standard sheet sizes are typically 1000mm x 2000mm or 1220mm x 2440mm, but custom sizes are also available.

Colors: Orange (natural color), black, red, etc.
