What is Prepreg?

It is an abbreviation for "prepreg." It refers to the fact that DMD material has been pre-impregnated with a Class B epoxy or polyester resin adhesive during the manufacturing process. In this state, the resin is partially cured, dry and non-sticky at room temperature, but melts and flows when heated (such as in motor baking processes) and eventually fully cures.

It combines excellent performance, including superior electrical insulation, strong mechanical strength, excellent heat resistance (typically Class F), and excellent chemical stability. Its excellent processability makes it ideal for automated production.

This prepreg DMD composite insulation material is widely used in oil-immersed and dry-type transformers, motors, generators, and welding machines. It is particularly suitable for interlayer insulation of dry-type transformer coils, as well as slot and phase insulation of Class F motors and generators.
