Polyimide Film Supplied to Electrical Insulation Materials Distributor in Turkey
A Supply Market Under Pressure
A Turkish electrical insulation materials distributor approached Chengrui after experiencing longer lead times and rising costs from its existing European supply channels.
The company serves manufacturers and maintenance businesses involved in industrial heating equipment, electric motors, electronic assemblies and other applications where ordinary polyester film may not provide sufficient thermal resistance.
Its customers were increasingly requesting thinner high temperature polyimide films, tighter thickness control and customized roll widths. The distributor therefore needed more than a lower quotation. It needed a source that could support product evaluation, flexible order quantities and repeat supply.
What the Customer Needed
The first project focused on amber, non-adhesive polyimide film for high-temperature electrical insulation and electronic component applications.
The customer's main concerns were thickness uniformity, surface cleanliness and reliable processing performance. Thin film can be difficult to handle if the roll is wound unevenly or if the edges are damaged during slitting.
The initial specifications included:
Film thicknesses within the 20–50 μm range
Customized roll widths
Clean surface with no obvious wrinkles or edge damage
Stable winding for further converting
Moisture-resistant export packaging
The customer also requested a technical data sheet and representative samples before confirming a commercial order.

Starting with a Controlled Trial
Rather than moving directly to a large shipment, the distributor began with a small trial order.
Chengrui prepared sample rolls based on the requested thickness and width. The samples allowed the customer to check the material under its own processing conditions and obtain feedback from several downstream users.
During the evaluation, attention was given to thickness consistency, roll appearance, flexibility, slitting quality and electrical insulation performance. The customer also checked whether the film could be unwound smoothly without excessive curling or tearing.
After completing the internal review, the distributor approved the material for its first commercial shipment.
Custom Slitting and Order Preparation
The polyimide film was slit according to the customer's required widths rather than being supplied only in master rolls. This reduced additional converting work after arrival in Turkey and allowed the distributor to offer more practical roll sizes to its own customers.
Before packing, the rolls were checked for width, appearance and edge condition. Each roll was labeled for easier identification and warehouse management.
The finished rolls were wrapped with moisture-resistant materials, placed in reinforced export cartons and secured on pallets for international transportation. Because thin polyimide film can be damaged by pressure or poor handling, the packing arrangement was designed to protect both the roll surface and edges.

From Product Approval to Repeat Supply
The shipment arrived in good condition and was distributed to customers involved in electrical insulation and high-temperature component production.
Feedback from the first order was positive, particularly regarding roll consistency and the availability of customized widths. The controlled trial also reduced the distributor's purchasing risk, since the material had already been evaluated before a larger volume was ordered.
Following the initial cooperation, the customer began discussing additional polyimide film thicknesses and related products, including adhesive-backed polyimide materials, polyester film and composite electrical insulation papers.
The project developed from a simple price inquiry into a repeat supply relationship based on material consistency, practical customization and responsive export support.
Why This Project Matters
For insulation material distributors, changing suppliers is rarely based on price alone.
A lower quotation has limited value if the material creates problems during slitting, laminating, coating or final assembly. Product documentation, sample availability, packaging and delivery reliability are equally important when introducing a new material to downstream customers.
By providing samples, customized roll dimensions and export-ready packing, Chengrui helped the Turkish distributor establish an additional source of polyimide film without committing immediately to a large-volume order.
